There are many steps to designing a successful incentive program, but if the rewards themselves are inappropriate, all the other work will have been wasted. As Chief Academic Advisor for the Incentive Research Foundation, he is responsible for conducting original research into questions of motivation and the effectiveness of incentives and rewards. Allan also produces the IRF Academic Quarterly Journal, is a member of the Compensation & Benefits Review Board, and maintains working relationships with more than 50 researchers in the field from around the world. Allan is a popular speaker on topics ranging from the design of reward and incentive programs to employee engagement and performance. He is the author of three books and hundreds of papers, articles and book chapters.
