Batteries are the new fuel tanks in electric vehicles (EVs). However, they are highly complex systems requiring advanced engineering methods from chemistry to cell engineering to module and pack engineering, and finally to integration into full vehicles. They need to store as much energy as possible to allow for range anxiety to be contained, while staying safe in case of unexpected events.
There are key technologies that address the EV market at large and, along with core technologies, can provide comprehensive solutions for digital battery engineering. This 30-minute Webinar provides an overview of solutions for digital battery engineering and dives into specific applications on topics such as coupled thermal-electric-displacement analysis, charging-induced expansion, ultrasonic welding analysis, and general structural analysis.

Fabien Letailleur, Senior Manager, Transportation & Mobility Initiatives, Dassault Systèmes

Fabien Letailleur leads the team responsible for delivering technical solutions and sales/marketing assets to targeted markets in the transportation and mobility industry, with an increased focus on electric vehicles. Fabien joined Dassault Systèmes in 2007 with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Technology of Troyes in France. His responsibilities within SIMULIA have included providing technical support for SLM in the customer services team and producing sales tools and demonstrations in the marketing/communications group. He has also worked on the messaging of Dassault Systèmes’ next-generation solutions for SIMULIA in the technical marketing and market strategy groups. In addition, he has worked to connect the SIMULIA value proposition with the Dassault Systèmes industry strategy since 2012.

Youngwon Hahn, Senior Industry Solutions Manager, Dassault Systèmes

Youngwon Hahn received his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering and scientific computing from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. After completing a post-doctoral research fellowship at U-M, Youngwon worked at Modine Manufacturing Co. as a Senior Finite Element Engineer, and in 2008 he joined SIMULIA. He has been working as the SIMULIA Senior Industry Solutions Manager, specializing in the fields of durability, NVH, MBD, and turbomachinery. Currently he is working on battery solutions for electric vehicles. Prior to completing his Ph.D., he worked at KIA Motor Co. for five years as a CAE Engineer in the suspension and chassis group.
