Ultrashort-pulsed (USP) lasers, emitting laser pulses in the picosecond or femtosecond regime, are well known for delivering very high quality results in micromachining applications, often without the need for any additional post processing. Despite the pristine quality they deliver, ultrashort pulsed processes often have the reputation of being “too slow” and therefore are not suitable for industrial-grade applications. This webcast, presented by Andreas Oehler of Lumentum, will describe performance limitations of USP micromachining processes and highlight how to overcome these limitations.
