How machine learning and hyperspectral imaging are advancing food and beverage inspection.

There are two elephants in the room when it comes to food and beverage inspection. Firstly, unlike manufactured parts, organic foodstuffs have high levels of variance making direct inspection challenging and problematic. Secondly, many types of food contamination such as mould may lay below the surface and are not easily detected even by the human eye. This presentation touches on how machine learning and hyperspectral technologies have advanced in recent years and can address many of these issues. They have now become viable and reliable solutions for many applications that were either simply not possible before or horrendously expensive to deploy.
