Case Study: Integrated Mechanical Testing with Non-Contact Measurement Solutions

 Trilion Quality Systems has partnered with MTS Systems to offer an array of test solutions that combine MTS loading solutions with ARAMIS non-contact sensors.

MTS’ customers employ its mechanical test equipment to measure strains and displacements on test specimens for material characterization, component and assembly testing, or to validate Finite Element Analysis. ARAMIS 3D Digital Image Correlation (DIC) provides a non-contacting means for measuring 3D coordinates, displacements and strains of materials and structures under test. This capability enables MTS test systems to be used for rapid full-field measurements, ranging from material characterization to full component testing.

This webinar will present case studies that demonstrate the integration of MTS loading solutions with ARAMIS non-contact sensors for measuring material properties, characterizing failure modes on structures, validating FEA and performing dynamic and vibration analysis.

Scott Anderson, PE, Senior Applications Engineer, MTS Systems Corporation

Scott Anderson is currently a Senior Applications Engineer for Materials in the Test Group of MTS Systems Corporation located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota’s Institute of Technology and is a licensed Professional Engineer. For thirty years, Mr. Anderson has pursued the development of characterization and fatigue life solutions for materials and structures used in aerospace, automotive, biomedical, and medical device applications. Mr. Anderson has deep experience in experimental strain measurement, ranging from strain gages to full-field Digital Image Correlation (DIC) systems.
