Assortment Planning Projects: A Proven Path for a Difficult Journey

The numbers are in! According to the April 2018 RSR Research Benchmark Report for Merchandising and Pricing, almost 50% of retailers have plans and / or budget to implement an assortment-related technology in the next 18 to 36 months. This doesn’t come as a surprise as nearly 70% of high-growth retailers believe these technologies are highly valuable to the success of their organizations.

However, assortment planning projects are hard. Fewer than 50% of those high-growth retailers report being satisfied with the assortment-related technologies they’ve implemented.

This leaves retailers with two questions:
  1. Why are more than half of my peers dissatisfied with their assortment-related technologies?
  2. How can my team and I avoid common pitfalls during the selection, implementation and training of a new assortment-related technology or procedure?
Join Paula Rosenblum and Peter Charness as they answer these questions by identifying the main obstacles retailers face during assortment planning transformations and the proven ways to solve for these challenges so that success isn’t left to chance.
