About the Speakers

Yukari Tortorich established Discovery Communication's travel program more than 20 years ago and has taken the company from an infancy in travel management to a mature program that covers more than 22 countries. Yukari executes a progressive strategy that supports business needs. Every year she challenges herself to look for innovative ways to serve both the traveler and the business by investigating new travel management technologies and partnering with emerging providers to run pilot programs with Discovery Communications travelers.

Sara Rooney joined Festive Road in August 2016 and has worked with clients across a variety of projects including outsourced travel management, next gen advocacy, traveler engagement and market analysis. She began her career in retail with US retailer, Nordstrom where she completed their in-house management training program, Future Nordstrom Leaders. Her move to Europe prompted a transition into business travel as an intern project manager for PwC’s UK travel team where her role focused on stakeholder engagement and MI analysis to feedback to the larger business services team.

Julia Fidler has managed travel at Microsoft for nearly 10 years, in various capacities. Since transitioning to her role as Microsoft Travel's employee experience manager a year and a half ago, Julia Fidler has spent her time listening to travelers. Through personal conversations, focus groups, social media and, especially, through data. Building on that data she's built a persona strategy based on what motivates Microsoft business travelers. Microsoft's broader travel management team is using these personas to structure engagement efforts, targeted communications and supplier negotiations around traveler needs.

Elizabeth West is the Editor-in-Chief of Business Travel News and Travel Procurement magazines. She has researched and reported on the and business travel and meetings industries for 15 years. She has developed online education forums for business travel and meetings managers, and frequently moderates education sessions at industry conferences. Prior to her work with BTN, Elizabeth was the Director of Content Solutions for, a startup business travel media company that merged with BTN in 2011. She also served as the Editor-in-Chief of MeetingNews magazine and has produced editorial, research and educational content in partnership with numerous business travel industry suppliers and associations.
