FRANK VISCUSO is a 23-year veteran of the fire service. He is a deputy chief and a tour commander in Kearny, New Jersey. He is a level 2 New Jersey fire instructor; co-creator of FireOpsOnline; and the author of six books, including Step Up and Lead and Fireground Operational Guides (with Michael Terpak). He travels throughout the country teaching about leadership development and team-building. He has developed more than 50 standard operating procedures and has served seven years as his department’s training officer. His articles appear in New Jersey Firefighter and Fire Engineering magazines.
