How to Reduce Production Costs with Rapid CNC Machining

Available On Demand until August 22, 2018

Machining remains a valuable manufacturing method for plastic and metal components. Rapid CNC machining looks at manufacturing differently than traditional CNC machining—understanding how to design for rapid CNC machining can accelerate production speed and reduce part costs.

In our brief webinar, you’ll learn:

• How you can reduce machining costs by simplifying part design
• How rapid CNC machining can be used for durable jigs and fixtures
• Why designing with moldability in mind early can better prepare you for a move to injection molding

Speaker:

Tony Holtz, Engineer, Proto Labs

Tony Holtz is an engineer at Proto Labs, a digital manufacturing company specializing in quick-turn 3D printing, CNC machining and injection molding. Holtz has been with Proto Labs for more than 15 years with roles ranging from CNC mill operator to mold designer to customer service engineer. While his formal education is in industrial machinery operations, he has extensive knowledge and experience in both traditional and advanced manufacturing processes and materials.
