Developing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles is a challenge without precedent. Sandeep Sovani, Ph.D., Director, Global Automotive Industry, ANSYS Inc.

Dr. Sandeep Sovani leads the automotive industry sector at ANSYS and is responsible for developing the company’s business and market strategy for the global automotive market segment. He holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Purdue University, is the recipient of the Lloyd Withrow Distinguished Speaker Award from SAE International, and has been actively involved in various areas of automotive technology and business for over two decades.





Lee Johnson, Lead Product Manager, Systems Business Unit, ANSYS Inc.

In his current role, Lee Johnson is responsible for the lifecycle of the Systems Simulation products, from vision and definition through delivery and support. He contributes to strategic initiatives for reduced-order modeling, simulation model/tool interoperability, digital twin for industrial IoT, and autonomous vehicle system simulation. Lee holds a master’s degree in control systems from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining ANSYS, he was the Director of Product Management at CyDesign Labs and held several positions at Synopsys Inc.



Bernard Dion, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer, System Business Unit, ANSYS Inc.

In his role at ANSYS, Dr. Bernard Dion is responsible for defining, promoting, bringing to the market, and supporting model-based system and software development tools for critical systems developers in order to reduce cost, risk, and time-to-market. He is also EUROCAE Secretary of the SC 205-WG 71 (DO-178C) committee subgroup on Tool Qualification. Bernard holds master’s and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.


Larry Williams, Ph.D., Director of Product Management, Electronics Business Unit, ANSYS Inc.

Dr. Larry Williams guides technical applications with specific emphasis on the market-leading HFSS 3D electromagnetic field solver and directs strategic customer programs and applications of RF/analog/mixed-signal circuit simulation coupled with electromagnetics. Prior to joining ANSYS, he served as the Co-founder and Vice President of Technology at Altra Broadband and as a Staff Engineer at Hughes Aircraft Co. Larry holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles.
