Virtual Product Development of Audio Systems with COMSOL Multiphysics®

Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm U.S. EDT

If you are interested in acoustic simulation, then tune into this webinar with guest speaker François Malbos from the Harman Virtual Product Development team.

In this webinar, François will present the audio simulation projects he developed to support consumers and OEM business lines, including loudspeaker, subsystem, and car cabin simulations. The presentation will include a comparison between COMSOL Multiphysics® simulations and measured data.

During a live demonstration, François will set up an acoustic simulation in which a loudspeaker is radiating sound inside a car cabin. You can ask questions at the end of this webinar during a Q&A session.

The virtual product development process for evaluating consumer and vehicle loudspeaker performance.

Speakers:

François Malbos, Principal Engineer, Engineering/R&D, Harman Lifestyle Audio

Dr. François Malbos received his PhD from the University of Paris for his work on acoustic and signal processing in the development of a speech recognition system. In 1995, he worked in the ultrasound field for medical applications. He joined HARMAN in 1997, where he developed advanced loudspeaker designs and simulations. In 2007, François moved to the Advanced Simulation team, mainly focusing on the optimization of audio systems for OEMs. He’s also published scientific papers and filed patents for HARMAN. He is now working on customer and advanced simulation requests for OEM and consumer activities.

Mads J. Herring Jensen, Technical Product Manager, COMSOL

Mads Herring Jensen is a technical product manager for acoustics who joined COMSOL in 2011. Before starting at COMSOL, he worked in the hearing aid industry for five years as an acoustic finite element expert.
