Modeling Acoustics Applications with COMSOL Multiphysics®

You will get an introduction to using COMSOL Multiphysics® software for modeling aeroacoustics, vibroacoustics, thermoviscous acoustics, porous materials, Biot models, pressure acoustics, and ray tracing. During the live software demo, you will see firsthand how to set up an ultrasound flow meter model, which combines acoustics and fluid flow. After the presentation, you can ask questions during the Q&A session.

Pressure signal distribution inside an ultrasound flow meter, including analysis of the influence of the background flow. The model is solved using a memory-efficient discontinuous Galerkin (DG-FEM) method.

Before joining COMSOL in 2011, he worked for 5 years in the hearing aid industry as an acoustic finite element expert studying, among other things, the performance of miniature directional microphones and analyzing feedback problems in hearing aids. He has a Ph.D. from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) where he first used COMSOL, 12 years ago, to model free surface flows.
