Darren is the Executive Editor of CPA
Practice Advisor, and remains in public practice as the principal of
Root & Associates, LLC, in Bloomington, Indiana, and president
of his consulting practice, RootWorks. He formerly served on the
Board of the AICPA's CITP Credentials Committee and is a former
member of the Board of Directors for the Indiana CPA Society. He
speaks at dozens of professional organizations each year and
frequently serves as a guest lecturer at Indiana University's Kelley
School of Business.
Brian Siet has a Bachelor of Science Degree Cum Laude in Business Administration concentration in Accounting from Northeastern University in Boston. Brian is a CPA and worked for CBIZ Tofias for 8 years in the A&A department and Tax department. During this time Brian was instrumental in implementing policies and procedures with the firms work paper management system, ProSystem Engagement, as well as other A&A and Tax solutions. Brian joined CCH in 2005, conducting quality accounting, auditing and tax presentations for a variety of audiences. Over the past 7 years, he has performed many speaking engagements at firm user groups and state societies on both A&A and tax workflow.
Jim is Partner and CIO at the firm WithumSmith+Brown and is responsible for overseeing all technology issues and operations for the Firm’s 14 offices and over 500 employees. He is the Chair of AICPA’s Tech + Conference, a member of AICPA Board of Directors and was named by Accounting Today as one of the Top 100 Influential People in the Accounting Profession. He has also been named by CPA Practice Advisor as one of the Top 25 Thought Leaders in Public Accounting Technology and is the past President of NJSCPA.
